Enterprise Club of Enterprise@APU

Enterprise@APU is pleased to announce the launching of APU’s very own Enterprise Club!

Enterprise@APU started in March 2021 under the leadership of Prof. Ir. Dr. Vinesh Thiruchelvam, Deputy Vice Chancellor and the guidance of our Entrepreneur-In-Residence, Mr. Dash Dhakshinamoorthy. The Enterprise@APU team also comprises Prof. Dr. Angelina Yee; Director, Research & Enterprise and a group of APU academicians.

The Enterprise@APU’s objective is to lay the foundation and catalyze the processes to achieve the following:

  • to create and build antifragile humans – ability to navigate uncertainty and benefit or thrive in it;
  • to create enterprising people at APU – to unlock the enterpriser in every student of APU;
  • to increase the number of meaningful and sustainable startups

So far, Enterprise@APU has been working on tapping students’ interest in building an entrepreneurial mindset by exposing them to a series of talks and panel discussion by startup founders and CEOs/CTOs in Enterprise Wednesday Fireside Chats and CEO/CTO Series. In addition, Ideation Bootcamps are organised  to welcome participation from students with interest in testing out their startup ideas and gaining some useful knowledge. From this platform, they also have the opportunity to meet some industry advisors. Those who have a deeper passion will continue to be groomed in the Idea Accelerator and Venture Building programmes. Now,  Enterprise@APU is bringing the Enterprise Club to our students to provide more opportunities to them to explore on what it takes to be enterprising.

Enterprise Club-‘For the Students, by the Students’

The club’s aim is to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit and interest in the students. It is a student club with a “for the students,  by the students” ethos. Students will be encouraged to work hand in hand with the Enterprise@APU team to design and execute programmes, events and bootcamps that develop students’ entrepreneurial knowledge and skills and help them to grow an entrepreneurial mindset so that they can become more enterprising and resilient individuals despite facing challenges.

Students in the club will get the chance to not only participate but also learn to organize events or projects with the academic supervisory team of Enterprise@APU.

Do I need to have good entrepreneurial knowledge?

No, you do not need to have any or very good entrepreneurial knowledge in order to become a member or committee of the club. All you need to start with will be the interest or passion and the willingness to learn. You will get to learn how to be entrepreneurial along the way. Students in the club will get the chance to not only participate but also learn to organize events or projects with the academic supervisory team. Currently all the events under Project Enterprise are conducted by the Enterprise @APU but some of these events will be conducted by the Club under the guidance of Enterprise @APU in the near future.
