APU’s CEO/CTO Talk SERIES organized by Enterprise@APU is a series of afternoon talks and panel discussions with highly experienced C-Level executives and domain experts from the industry. The purpose of these monthly talk sessions is to provide APU students and staff with relevant exposure and connection to real world challenges and opportunities that organizations and its leaders face in a rapidly changing world. Through these talks our aim is to provide budding or nascent entrepreneurs to the world of converting ideas into action. Our aim is to also inspire people pursuing their own entrepreneurial ambitions to connect with the industry, other stakeholders and to gain a more robust world view.
CEO/CTO SERIES: STARTUP JOURNEY – A COACH’S PERSPECTIVE
In this first series, Mr. Peter Tam, the Entrepreneur Nurturer and the Head of Partnerships of Rackspace Technology. With over 20 years of experience in the tech industry, we have delved into the coach’s perspective of a start-up journey on 27th May at 2.30pm. Prior to his current role, Mr Peter worked with some of the biggest tech conglomerates in the world like Apple, Microsoft, IBM and Accenture. Rafiza Ghazali, the women who took a huge risk amidst the peak of the COVID-19 situation in Malaysia back in 2020 to become Cradle’s first female Group CEO. Rafiza gave us a glimpse of her reflections and observations over the years venturing in different industry and how start-ups should now focus on innovative and technological change to adapt to this digital economy. Rafiza carries over 26 years of experience in Finance, Audit, Investment, Strategy and Business Development within a wide range of industries that include Banking, Energy, Plantations, Property, Healthcare, Automotive, Industrial, Media/Information and Consumer-Goods. Awarded as the HR Best Leader of 2020 by HRM Asia as well as winning multiple regional and global awards for her contributions, her expertise lies in driving Change initiatives focusing on developing the optimum organizational structure, attracting the best talent using creative and strategic channels.
